One of the key initiatives of Project ReWild Desaru is the reforestation activity of the area which is mainly carried through tree planting. This measure involves planting of trees with growth characteristics in specific ecosystems that have been degraded or damaged through human interferences. Our intention is to replant these trees so that the regions can be healthy ecosystems where the wildlife can live and feed from in the respective areas. This is well coordinated in order to ensure that the correct species are planted in the right areas in relation to the tampering of balance of the ecosystem.
Tree planting aids in removing carbon from the atmosphere, strengthening the soil structure, preventing soil erosion, and improving the quality of air being circulated within the atmosphere.
People of the region and also tourists can participate and this way rubbish collection turns into an action that involves people and helps them change their attitude to the environment.
